Cottage FAQs

Yes. The garden is fully fenced, lawned and private — suitable for dogs off-lead without supervision. There's also a front terrace with outdoor seating. It's one of the most requested features for guests travelling with dogs and one of the reasons this cottage books up well in advance.
Yes. Dogs are welcome at no extra charge, with no size restriction. The enclosed garden means dogs can be outside without needing to be watched at the gate. Walking routes suitable for dogs start directly from the cottage — Birchen Edge, Baslow Edge and the Chatsworth parkland walk are all excellent.
There's no limit on the number of dogs. The garden is large enough to be genuinely useful for multiple dogs, and the nearby moorland walks are well-suited to dogs of any size and energy level.

40 minutes on foot through the parkland, or around 10 minutes by car. You enter the Chatsworth estate within 10 minutes of leaving the cottage gate and follow the river path up to the house. Dogs are welcome on leads throughout the estate.
15 minutes by car. Bakewell is the most visited market town in the Peak District — the Monday market, the original Bakewell Pudding Shop and the Monsal Trail trailhead are all there.
Yes. With a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and a private enclosed garden, the cottage is well-suited for longer stays. The minimum stay is three nights, and longer bookings often work out better value per night.
